Welcome to the LungsForBarbara.com website.  The is a fundraising site for Barbara Beevers, a 70 year old woman awaiting a lung transplant at Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, Houston, Texas.

Barbara’s health is rapidly declining, and Methodist Hospital is rushing to get her through the evaluation phase of the transplant program.  Still, the pre-transplant portion of the operation requires a minimum of 3 months staying in a hotel, apartment or other rental unit while she waits for the operation.  Once she is hospitalized for the operation, insurance will kick-in, and her out-of-pocket expenses will be reduced.  After the operation itself, she will then be required to stay in Houston from 3-6 months for rehabilitaton, observation and weekly testing.  At a bare minimum, we need to raise $5000 in a very short time !
